345 – Geocaching Again

This weekend was basically a repeat of last. We tried our hand at Geocaching again today. This time we found a few more around Dan’s parents’ place. There are quite a few within walking distance there actually, which makes it quite convenient. We can print off our cache info, bring along our GPS/Dan’s iPhone and ta da. It was a nice day for it.
Today we found our first pathtag. I don’t really get the purpose of these, but ok… lol Basically you can design and purchase them to drop off in caches, and when people find them they log it on the website and you can see where your tags have been picked up. I thought it was the same as trackable items which move around from cache to cache, but they’re not. We’re able to keep this one. I actually went to drop it off at another cache later in the day, and go figure, I actually found another one of the same tag in that cache already.
Here’s me (part of me at least) with one of the caches we found. This was one that several people before us hadn’t found, so the cache owner (CO) posted some spoiler pics of the location and slightly moved it. We found it right away! It pays to check the notes on a cache to get those little hints (we learned that the hard way when we couldn’t find one of our caches on the first day). The papers are the cache details that I print from the geocaching.com website. Very handy.
